The following Internship Opportunities are open for applications:
Centre for Teaching and Learning Interns (12 months) x 2
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Compile databases of #SecureTheGrad activities and administrative work.
- Venue administration: Assist with booking venues.
- Capture attendance data of webinars.
- Assist with multimedia marketing campaigns for assigned projects.
- Assist with checking Adhoc claims for Adhoc appointments.
- Assist with the compilation of reports.
- Assist with general administrative support within the focus area.
Inherent Job Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s Degree on NQF Level 7
Finance Interns (12 months) x 2
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform administrative duties on tenders.
- Prepare attendance registers and confidentiality documents for tender workgroup.
- Book venues and setting up virtual meetings for information and evaluation sessions.
- Perform mandatory tender evaluations.
- Follow up on outstanding.
- Confirm accuracy and validity of required documents.
- Assist department with tender requests, and handle inquiries from bidders and potential bidders.
- Assist the purchasing division and vendor registration division with new purchase orders and new vendor registration.
- Create purchase orders on PeopleSoft Financials.
- Follow up on open purchase orders.
- Close purchase orders.
- Process transactions on PeopleSoft Financials.
- Assist with General Procurement enquiries in the offices.
Inherent Requirements:
- A B.Com Accounting Degree or B.Acc Degree or B.Com Law on NQF Level 7
- Not studying full time
- Must be a South African Citizen or permanent resident.
- Must have excellent writing skills
Media and Communication PYEI Intern (6 months) x 1
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide support to the KovsieSport Media and Communication Service provider.
- Assisting in gathering fixtures and dates of activities from sport codes.
- Assist with interviews and writing of articles.
- Take pictures at sport events.
- Assist with the monitoring of and replying to social media messages from candidates and clients.
- Assist with and organise accurate recording and editing of the content of videos from sports activities.
- Assist in keeping track of weekly media activities.
- Assist in coordinating campaigns and activations.
- Assist with banner booking and collections.
- Assist with mascot bookings and mascot assistance.
- Provide accurate and informative written and verbal reports.
- Assist with website management.
- Assist with content creation.
- Provide accurate and informative written and verbal reports.
Inherent Job Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma / B.Tech Degree / Postgraduate Certificate on NQF level 7 in Journalism / Media Studies
- Graduates between the ages of 18 and 35
- Not studying full time, classes preferably after hours
- Must be a South African citizen or permanent resident
The following criteria apply to the selection of candidates:
- Have not participated in any learnership / internship programme.
- Willing to sign a learnership / internship agreement with the UFS.
- Candidate must be available for a period of six (6) to twelve (12) months
