Ngwaabe protest lead to shutting down Tubatse Steel Bridge

Ngwaabe – Ngwaabe residents are protesting, this led to closing the Tubatse One-Way Steel Bridge mostly utilised by mine workers.

Towards sunrise, people who were going to Steelpoort and Burgersfort failed to move past Tubatse Steel Bridge as there’s a protest going on, which we strongly believe is connected to the failure of the mines to employ Ngwaabe residents.

On the 10th of February 2021, there was a meeting that was held by Ngwaabe Leadership regarding employment posts at the mines.

Thus far the main road from Jane Furse moving past Ngwaabe to connect with R555 isn’t working as the one-way steel bridge in Ngwaabe, Ga-Malekane is closed.
