Beitbridge border post has seen 104 new covid-19 cases in the past 4 days

Limpopo – According to the Office of the Premier of Limpopo, 104 people tested positive for Covid-19 in the past 4 days.

The Limpopo Department of Health calls upon those entering South Africa though Beitbridge Border Post to please self-quarantine prior mingling with others upon arrival at their destinations.

With thousands of people stuck at the border for days while awaiting their entry into SA, department is badgered as the border has become a super-spreader.

“Considering the incubation period of the virus, we wish to implore those who will be crossing from Beitbridge to do the right thing and self-quarantine because they have been exposed to a potential super-spreader,” says Limpopo MEC for Health Phophi Ramathuba.

104 people tested +ve for COVID 19 at the Beitbridge border in the past 4days.Due 2 congestion there was no social distance & no wearing of mask. We call upon all who were there 2 self quarantine at least 5 to 7 days and avoid interaction with others even if their results are -ve
