Production Research Agronomist
Location: Kempton Park, Gauteng, South Africa
As Production Research Agronomist you will be responsible for provide leadership in identifying, designing, planning and executing traditional and innovative research to address current and future seed production practices focusing on optimization and factors that impact seed, quantity, quality and production reliability.
Requirements:
- B. Agric. Crop Production or BSc in Agronomy and at least 2 years research experience, or Seeds Industry related experience preferred.
- Broad technical knowledge of Agronomy and/or Plant Physiology/Breeding, Statistics, field and seed conditioning equipment, and a perspective of seed customer and grower needs.
- Demonstrated applied research design and analysis skills with experience in summarizing research trial results.
- Good computer skills with the ability to learn new programs and data management systems.
- Demonstrated personal organizational skills and ability to take personal initiative and work effectively in teams. Assumes clear accountability for work plans and timely delivery of work products.
- Understanding of the seed business and interest in global aspects of business.
Research Associate
Location: Delmas, Mpumalanga, South Africa

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in agriculture or scientific related field plus 2-4 years industry related experience required
- Strong background in agronomy
- Experience in managing plant breeding research nurseries and related activities
- Proven ability to make timely decisions, solve problems and build consensus
- Excellent interpersonal/communication skills are required for fostering teamwork, enhancing a good working environment, and effectively developing strong working relationships with a diverse group of people
- Ability to supervise and prioritize multiple tasks is critical
- Technical and mechanical skills for troubleshooting, maintenance and upkeep of equipment, to ensure excellent condition and safety of equipment at any time.
- Proficiency in Office software such as spreadsheets, mail, calendar and presentation software.
- Always comply with safety regulations and country laws, lead in way which will inspire all team members and follow the example
- After hours work required in season
- Ability to work outside in all kinds of weather
- Valid drivers license is required
