MAIN PURPOSE:
To ensure the production of innovative, sustainable and excellent quality Agricultural Produce products at a competitive price for the Woolworths customer
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and trial the quality of agricultural products and processes in order to maintain the quality and safety of products for the customer and to safeguard the reputation of WW
- Work closely with colleagues and growers to devise and implement business and technical strategy
- Work with growers to ensure products are grown and produced in in the most efficient way using sustainable agronomic practices and in accordance with WW requirements
- Work in collaboration with growers and colleagues on varietal development to deliver innovative produce products
- Work in collaboration with growers and colleagues to develop and maintain optimal quality standards for produce products
- Ensure technical specs and policies are in place and in accordance with legal requirements and current established WW guidelines
- Identify, assess and approve suitable new growers in order to further quality, availability, safety, trust, value and innovation in produce products
Qualifications:
- BSc Agriculture (Agronomy/Plant Production or Soil Science or Plant Pathology or Entomology)
