A leading furniture manufacturer situated in the South of Johannesburg is seeking to employ, on a full time basis:
Salary:
Negotiable, depending on qualifications and experience.
Overview:
This position requires a young and energetic furniture designer who will join our team with some experience in furniture design to be training as our 2IC Proto Manager.
Exposure:
Day-to-day exposure will include;-
- Furniture design (Lounge: both static and recliner)
- Template making
- Jig making
- Staff management
- Waste management
Essential Characteristics:
The successful candidate will be able to;-
- work efficiently in a fast-paced and fast-changing environment
- be willing to be trained
- communicate professionally and effectively with all stakeholders
- have some technical background and interest
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The successful candidate will be some or a mix off;-
- Degree / Diploma: Architecture, Furniture Design, Interior Design
- Sewing, Upholstery & Woodwork experience
- AutoCad or related computer drawing experience
- Engineering, Graphics and design experience
- Some knowledge of Bill of Materials
