Job Description:
The successful incumbent will apply Industrial Engineering techniques in order to improve operating performance, to reduce waste and delays, to produce cost reductions and higher levels of efficiency. Develops and optimises manufacturing methods to improve material handling and production processes as well as standard operating procedures in line with VKB Agri Processors objectives and requirements.
Requirements:
- Grade 12/ NQF4
- BEng/ BSc in Industrial Engineering
- Passionate and knowledgeable about Continuous Improvement
- Valid Driver’s License and own transport
- Passionate about world class manufacturing/lean production methodologies and principles
- Prefers to work in a small team where multi skilling is essential
- Prepared to work in different types of production environments
- Engineering experience in a production plant will serve as recommendation
- Exhibit a solution-oriented approach and be able to work effectively under pressure
- Strong analytical and project management skills
- Understand organizational requests in order to design practical solutions that serve the needs of the business
- Exhibits confidence and a keen interest in emerging industry practices
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work independently and serve as support function to the Continuous Improvement Manager of VKB Agri Processors
- Work with various teams to reduce process- and business variations
- Review and update business procedures and documents based on project requirements
- Identify opportunities for improvement in the FMCG chain
- Drive operational excellence within the FMCG chain
- The effective management of projects within the approved project timeframe and budget
- Determine the profitability of projects
- To coach and direct all relevant staff to maintain standards, practices and processes
- To stay abreast of all relevant legislation and industry trends to give practical solutions to the various companies within VKB Agri Processors
